12 Months Have Past Since I Wrote My Last Blog Post

Well it's been 12 months since I wrote my last post and even though I have learnt a little more about internet marketing - I have yet to actually earn any income.

I found myself going from one scheme to another - paying a little here and a little there, before moving on after not getting any results.

One such training scheme entices people to join with the promise that if you enlist three other people that your own monthly membership is then paid for. But what they don't tell you is how hard it is to gain those three people and that there are extra costs involved after you enlist, to pay for the other services that they recommend in order to promote your affiliate products of business services to.

It is a siite that is mainly targeted towards teachiing network marketers how to market online using a variety of metods. I was not in a Network Marketing scheme, but began looking at what the site had to offer regarding training. It was after exploring much of what was on offer that I decided that perhaps there was a better chance of earning extra money if I combined an off-line business (network marketing or a marketing business) together with a my online efforts. At least it would get me out from behind the life draining computer and get me mixing with real people - real social marketing.

So I joined one in September intending to use it as a case study/plug-in international business for online international marketing.

How Did I Do?

Well it's no surprise that people in network marketing, lose hope and jump from sdcheme to scheme. The training from your sponsor can be very poor, non-exisent and very dated. If you have the misfortune to find a sponsor who does 'old school and spends 72 hours a week working up their stress level and running themselves into debt, while spending their evenings walking the streets dropping flyers, for less than the income of a full time 36 hour job, on the hope that their downline is blindsided enough, that they can't see to whom the sales profit is really going, then you have bought yourself into a business that you too may find yourself digging a moneypit for.

Why Bother?

Well, as my goal was not to make money from a network marketing company, but instead, to use it a a vehicle for developing my marketing skills, I have controlled the time and expenses that I have invested into the Network Marketing company. I used it to build my project management skills, my marketing list skills, my first squeeze page.....for internet marketing. My squeeze page has worked, as I have had 6 FREE leads in 2 days, from international enquirers while I go about my daily life.

Now I know that my squeeze page works even without an auto responder attached, so I can progress my lead generation skills from there. I just needed a product and found one that fitted with my personal and professional interests, that would enable me to develop a part-time business while learning internet marketing skills, and also potentially learning how to build a low cost off line business with an income that can potentially be grown by an international team over the long term.
