Internet Marketing - What I am Learning and Why. Part 1

Well, during the last three weeks, while I am on long term sick leave and limited to what I can do, I have been cruising the internet. I have been bombarbed by so many internet marketing sites with emails, that I am finding it hard to keep track of who has sent me what, where from and the source of the tasty tantilizing and beefy material I am finding out there! And believe me, some of them are fantastic!

I discovered the idea some years ago, and knew about affiliate programs and clickbank, and a little about web page design using HTML however, it was all very diffict as many parts of the jigsaw were missing. Last year I picked up a few key words, that mentally put me a few steps up the ladder, but still no real steps forward. I was finding it difficult to even get my talented (and starving) web designing nephew to come on board and help me out, as he was blissfully unaware of everything I had been heavily hinting at him over several years. (affiliates/ associates - how much loader could I shout it!!).

However, being off sick long term and still not knowing if I will be paid sick leave or not, it gave me the incentive and time to get down to learning and focus. I have also come to realise after 12 months of requests, that the nephew won't be coming around to help, and as always I can only depend on myself.

I soon became the recipient of links within emails which lead to more quality material. Intriged, I began reading those extremely long winded sales pitches, that always seem to have a catch. I found a good site, and then another. Soon, free material came my way that was helpful and actionable, and cost nothing to implement. I had already started blogging 12 months ago, after Mrs Maggie Whitehouse's Creative Writing course, and had half registered with google adwords (I expect I lost any commision I may have had, as they didn't have my address!). I twittered too. So I used their content to begin setting up links. So today I registered with those sites designed to drive traffic to my blog.

Then I got another email about an Internet Marketing conference in London... I wish I could go! but they will be broadcasting it over the internet apparently. Unfortunately, I don't want to be sitting here all day for 4 days. My motive for not sitting here, will also be my incentive for getting started as soon as possible. I will tell you why later.

So stayed tuned and encourage my progress. Your support will be appreciated.
