The Cultural Confines of Creating Cash
Self-made millionaire at age 14.
Is this true? Often our culture dictates when you can start earning money, how we do it and how much we allow ourselves to earn.
Some cultures are more willing to invest in marketing than others. In America, I expect that many successful people have a huge array of people to model themselves on, emulate and idolise as images of achievement and success.
Here in England though, it's still not the general culture to 'flash the cash' - and promote your own financial status. Within the varied multicultural society here, established business orientated cultures can easily access their role models via their social networks, TV or magazines for example. However, among the black communities in particular the West Indian, there appear to be very few public business people to model.
Creating Long Term Models of Success
Business success has it's own established and tested models of marketing from PLESTEL models to the 4P's of price, product, place and promotion. If you follow them after good market research, and regularly monitor and audit them, generally you should have a smooth running business.
While many are investing in the advantage that the great and dynamic changes which are constantly occurring in marketing, in particular the current trends in Internet Marketing and Social Networking Media, many people still resist getting on board with the latest media tools.
Marketing works. Yes, it labourious, creates expenditure and there is so much learning to do, its practically a full time occupation, but if that is not the area of your business, then yes, you should focus on what you want to develop as a strength, then let someone else do the marketing. Many people, especially those who were fortunate to grab prime locations for passing customers, take for granted the advantages of additional marketing.
If you know you are operating a business within a niche market in particular, then yes, you really do need to market even more. So I have to question the disadvantage that some cultures place upon themselves by limiting their marketing investments. If marketing grows your business by a few percent each year, that may be the equivalent of the interest you would have been paying on the capital invested. If regular marketing grows that business into double figures for growth each year, then in a short amount of time, you will double your income or the capital invested.
Marketing investments can be monitored as closely as that of any other business factor and in doing so, you can then project those decisions and expenditure on a graph to identify the correlation between marketing activity and results.
A story of trip to the hairdressers prompts me to suggest you also bear in mind your own contribution to the equation after you have succeeded in driving a customer to your business, by maintaining a SWOT analysis of yourself and your business. There is no point blaming the customers for staying away from a business, if experienced customers realise that they have fallen for the price, place, promotion and offered product, but when it comes to styling hair, you just can't cut it!

Skype Savings _ Free Skype to Skype Calls
Yes, I have had Skype on my phone for three years but not taken the time to get to know how to use it. I, like everyone else often don't read the manuals.
Reading the manual and learning how to use your assets is of course going save money in these credit crunch times.

Clickbank Millionaire Masterclass - Review
Mark Anastasi hosted a four day event titled - Clickbank Millionaire Masterclass in London in June 2010. The invitation was recieved one week prior to the event, however it was broadcast live on Ustream - internet TV broadcaster. Mark, who himself has made millions through internet ventures within the last 5 years, provided the motivational speeches and tips, while several (approx. 15) top internet marketers gave more detailed marketing strategies and income strategies for newbie and more experienced Internet Marketers looking to accelerate their income and broaden their buying market base. Each marketer offered some coaching at a price along with software and webpage support.
A thoroughly enlightening event which served to reinforce my own plans and strategies for developing online marketing and income streams. I'm just waiting for that first sale...

Internet Marketing - What I am Learning and Why. Part 1
Well, during the last three weeks, while I am on long term sick leave and limited to what I can do, I have been cruising the internet. I have been bombarbed by so many internet marketing sites with emails, that I am finding it hard to keep track of who has sent me what, where from and the source of the tasty tantilizing and beefy material I am finding out there! And believe me, some of them are fantastic!
I discovered the idea some years ago, and knew about affiliate programs and clickbank, and a little about web page design using HTML however, it was all very diffict as many parts of the jigsaw were missing. Last year I picked up a few key words, that mentally put me a few steps up the ladder, but still no real steps forward. I was finding it difficult to even get my talented (and starving) web designing nephew to come on board and help me out, as he was blissfully unaware of everything I had been heavily hinting at him over several years. (affiliates/ associates - how much loader could I shout it!!).
However, being off sick long term and still not knowing if I will be paid sick leave or not, it gave me the incentive and time to get down to learning and focus. I have also come to realise after 12 months of requests, that the nephew won't be coming around to help, and as always I can only depend on myself.
I soon became the recipient of links within emails which lead to more quality material. Intriged, I began reading those extremely long winded sales pitches, that always seem to have a catch. I found a good site, and then another. Soon, free material came my way that was helpful and actionable, and cost nothing to implement. I had already started blogging 12 months ago, after Mrs Maggie Whitehouse's Creative Writing course, and had half registered with google adwords (I expect I lost any commision I may have had, as they didn't have my address!). I twittered too. So I used their content to begin setting up links. So today I registered with those sites designed to drive traffic to my blog.
Then I got another email about an Internet Marketing conference in London... I wish I could go! but they will be broadcasting it over the internet apparently. Unfortunately, I don't want to be sitting here all day for 4 days. My motive for not sitting here, will also be my incentive for getting started as soon as possible. I will tell you why later.
So stayed tuned and encourage my progress. Your support will be appreciated.

Decluttering and recluttering
Joblessmuse on twitter, just tweeted this site about decluttering and selling unwanted items. I''m in the process of this (as always) so here are a few ideas.

Then you can buy and sell a few items on ebay from a police auction.

Life is like a garden.
Life is like a garden, and right now the one I have is flat, lacking in colour and uncaptivating to all the senses. The former owner told me he hated gardening, and decided to slab over three quarters of it. I personally don't want to spend too much time 'working' in my garden to enjoy the seasonal pleasures and rewards that come for a few weeks each year. But this garden is barren and bleak in the extreme!
However, when I stand at the upstairs windows and notice the neighbouring gardens full of colours, fruits and vegetables and exotic trees, I have a little frown at how little the previous owners had wanted to invest in my now newly owned garden. In fact, they even stole the fences when they left! At the back are a few brambles of blackcurrants that have, by their own mercy, sneaked through a garden fence and a couple of potentilla and aquilegia plants that a bird must have granted me during an Mercy Missions Air Drop. The rest are weeds, that for my sins, I must scrape out of the cracks of the bland matrix of paving stones, for a couple of weeks each year.
Yes, gardens like life, require some forward planning and long term vision for the future. What yields do you want it to produce? Is it all recreation or will it need to produce food, if not for yourself, at least for the wildlife? Will you be 'too busy working to put food on the table' to enjoy it as a resting place or would that extra hour at work be better spent producing food in your own garden that create savings in your purse? Do you use it as a social meeting place and talking point? Yes, its a balance between time invested and long and short term, perceived rewards.
So last week I invested in a few more plant. Some long lasting bulds. they are primarily for my other home, but I may sneak a few out here and add a little colour to the front of my house. Am I prepared to invest in the ongoing and enduring commitment required to maintain this colourful landscape? I don't know. I'm thinking I barely have enough energy, mental or physical, to wash my car at the moment, but how long will it take to cut out a few sections of grass and plant a floral patch? Is it a bit 'feminine' to do that? A bit 'old ladyish'? Am I creating more work for my solo self in the long run?
At some point this week I expect to get the bulbs into the ground outside. I have already potted a few indoors because they were sprouting out in the bag as I brought them home from the store. Last years fruit bushes were late to planting, so I missed out on one years worth of fruitful crop. With bulds and seeds, just as with life itself there is a window of opportunity in natures cycle of scheduling and timing, that once missed can not be regained until the next season (unless you have a hothouse or artificial environment). A little added nurturing from BabyBio and John Innes and the birds, bees and bugs will be visiting in their delighted droves, bringing good and thankful karma, I expect.
So, I aim to get them in on nature preferred deadline, and have them sprouting and blooming to the shock and delight of my passing and peaking neighbours.
Photos I expect will follow. :)
